Sleep Easy – this works Lavender and Vetivert candle

this works candle

Like many people, I sometimes have real trouble sleeping. We’re not talking about actual insomnia but I do frequently struggle to fall asleep for an hour or so, and wake up in the middle of the night unable to go back to sleep again. The hours spent staring at a dark ceiling can seem endless, and it’s both annoying and frustrating to get up in the morning feeling more tired than when I went to bed. The one silver lining of this is that I have an excuse to try lots of different products promising to aid sleep, from bath oils to pillow sprays to candles.

this works have a whole range of dedicated sleep products and although this isn’t actually one of them, it is scented with two of the oils central to the range. Lavender and vetivert are both used in aromatherapy for their soothing and relaxing properties and, as a bonus, smell really lovely together. I can detect more vetivert than lavender in the candle’s scent, making it woody and comforting. this works candles come in gorgeous frosted glass containers which have a cosy glow when lit, and the scent throw is good too, meaning that it fills a bedroom easily. I hate scented candles which only scent the eight square inches around them.

I’m not convinced that it helps me fall asleep more quickly but I do find it relaxes me before bed and makes the room smell lovely. I’ve just ordered the much-lauded Deep Sleep pillow spray so hopefully the combination will knock me out.

I found this in TK Maxx – having had a look at this works’ website, I’m not sure it’s available anymore but there is a lavender & chamomile version here for £25. If you fancy the vetivert, it’s also on TK Maxx’s site here for £12.99, which isn’t bad for 40 hours of burn time.

Do you have any products that you turn to when you struggle to sleep?
